The image in p. 182, pn3, is a 6th-century painting of Christ Pantokrator, from St. Catherine's Monastery, Mt. Sinai, Egypt.

The illusion commonly known as the "necker cube" (used on p. 183) was devised by Louis Albert Necker (1786-1861). I hope he wouldn't mind me verbing him.
